Darkest Hate Warfront - The Aftermath
The Brazilian Darkest Hate Warfront combines black metal with thrash metal since 1999. The Aftermath is their second release after the release of full length album Satanik Annihilation Kommando in 2005.The band says to be influenced by bands such as Slayer, Kreator and Marduk and I must say that’s pretty obvious, because their music is a typical reflection of those bands. Don’t expect anything deep, because this album is merely about chaos and war. Mostly the tracks are up speed, with a slower part every now and then. The guitars do have some nice riffs that may catch your attention. Nothing special to love, but nothing special to hate either. 'Suicide Fields' is an exception though. Maybe this song is the most black metal orientated; compared to the other tracks, it’s relatively slow, it starts off with the ringing of bells and it's definitely got more atmosphere. My favourite of the album!
Personally, I would not listen to this album at home often, but I can imagine getting wasted and go see these guys live sometime and completely trash the place. I’m sure these guys made a serious attempt in delivering their message about their hatred against Christians, but all I picture during the tracks, especially 'Granada', is grabbing a beer or two and make a complete idiot out of myself while dancing when Darkest Hate Warfront make their appearance at a festival or concert.
